Photographed by Henry Grant: “These young men are dressed in the ‘Teddy boy’ style, which blended Edwardian and American fashions. Through slicked quiffed hair, draped jackets with velvet collars, narrow ties and peg trousers, the ‘Teds’ expressed their rebelliousness. By the mid-1950s Teds had attracted a reputation, especially among the media, for violent and criminal behaviour.”
